Back to School, Again: Tailgates, Technology, and Times Past
Posted on 9/3/2015 by Dave Cavnar
This Friday, I’ll be returning to my alma mater, Western Michigan University, with some college buddies. We plan to engage in the age old tradition of tailgating prior to watching the football game between the Broncos and the Spartans of Michigan State University. I haven’t been back to Kalamazoo (yes, that is a real place) in years, and the prospect of returning to my old stomping grounds has gotten me thinking about all of the students who are currently moving into dorm rooms for the first time and the general bustle and energy that envelopes college towns all over the United States this time of year.View Post
What Ignites Your Flame? Combining Personal Passions and Technology
Posted on 8/11/2015 by Dave Cavnar
I am going to be honest with you: it's difficult for me to get that excited about new technology. I recognize that at today’s technological pace, brand new generations of a device or product will inevitably pop up within a month of any purchase I make. The growth and expansion of processing power and technological capabilities, combined with the decrease in size of the hardware required to run a device, compounded by the rate of development of new technologies… Zzzzt! Fizzle! Bang!View Post
Plan, Shoot, Cut: Killer Video Production for Beginners
Posted on 8/10/2015 by Dave Cavnar
So when I first started toying with the idea for this post, I hadn’t intended to have it sound so morbid. However, now that the title has been typed up, I think I might keep it. I’m not sure why, but something about it makes me think of Dexter, the Showtime series about a serial killer who only targets people who are themselves dangerous murderers. As I run to keep up with my derailed train of thought, I realize it is related to something that I’ve always been passionate about.View Post

Posted on 7/21/2015 by Dave Cavnar
We can all agree that online business is not going anywhere. It is growing every day, becoming more accessible and allowing for more people to make more connections than ever at an unprecedented rate. With this incredible amount of users flocking to what a service that a business is providing, it’s easy for the buyer to feel like they’re being lost in the crowd. With so many people looking to satisfy their online shopping needs, it’s simple for large companies to lose sight of their most essential asset: the user or customer.View Post
Shop Smarter, from Anywhere: The Age of Mobile eCommerce
Posted on 7/20/2015 by Phil Coron
As this post is being written, a vast majority of people living in first world countries (and many in less developed nations as well) are nearly inseparable from their devices. For many of us, our smart device is the first thing we glance at in the morning and the last thing we look at before turning off the lights. How does this affect us in 2015?View Post

Imagine walking downtown on a scorching summer day and you see two ice cream stands. Product Discovery: Putting the Fun Back in Online Shopping!
Posted on 7/17/2015 by Dave Cavnar
We’ve all arrived in an unfamiliar town after a long trip and wanting to grab a bite to eat. It’s often tempting to just go with what you know: a familiar chain restaurant. You know exactly what you’re going to get, what ingredients to expect, and how expensive it’s going to be. But for many of us, we like some variety. The discovery of a new spot is often exhilarating and possibly even necessary.View Post
How Much Does a Polar Bear Weigh?

Welcome! As this is the icebreaker to our new blog, it felt appropriate to say hello and introduce ourselves. We may seem like a new face in the crowded world of eCommerce, but we hope to become a familiar and welcome presence. We came to grow and develop into what TrueCurate is today over the course of the last three years. Although all of the current members of the team hail from Michigan, we all come from a wide variety of fields and professional experience.View Post
